The Boat Princess wrap-up of the 2024 Sydney Boat Show

Updated: Aug 14

Sydney Boat Show this year had a great atmosphere and attendance and as I understand it from a number of dealers some great sales too!

For myself it was a chance to gather some more content to share with my audience including two great podcasts with Hillary Buckman of Ocean Magazine and Josie Eastman of Edencraft - she and I spoke about how important Boat Shows are to the boating industry and how you simply do not know how much impact one might have on your business. You might not sell a boat AT the show but that may lead to ongoing sales for years and years into the future and that certainly has been Edencraft’s experience of Sydney Boat Show which she explains in the podcast.

The other very important part of the show is of course the networking and now that the BIA have increased the offerings the learnings too. We attended the Diversity Seminar which was an excellent presentation and discussion some of wish I shall be sharing in more detail at some stage and of course our networking event of Women in the Boating Industry and Beyond and their Supporters was a huge success.

Big thanks to everyone that booked it was amazing to see you all and to see you all catch up with each other and meet and make new contacts. Our networking events are about having fun but also knowing you are not alone nor are you without people you can call on for help and support. I hope to continue these at the Sanctuary Cove and Sydney Boat Shows in the future - if you know of anyone willing to assist with sponsorship please let me know as that would certainly help us to do so. I would also love to hold some half day events in which we learn followed by some social time together. If you have anything you would like covered in these please let me know.

Of course another exciting part of our events is hearing from some amazing women in our midst. This time it was Sarah Hoffman, Annie Wilmot and Laura Harding who are all part of our Youth and Womens Challenge in the Americas Cup. Big thanks to Caz Grant for organising this. They are incredible women that are making history and whilst we could say 2024 is way later than it should have been, it is exciting to be part of that change.

To find out more about our America’s Cup team you can listen to two recent podcasts I did with them here:

To make sure you don’t miss out on future events make sure you are signed up for our newsletter as this is the only way we can make sure you know about them - despite regular social posts unfortunately the algorithms don’t necessarily send them your way.

My huge thanks for their support for the event at Sydney Boat Show to:

Shadow Charters

Chapman Yachting

Lyres Spirits

Mulpha Events

Pip Rae

Bianca of Yacht Society

And Everyone that booked!
