Team Australia Challenge: Empowering the Next Generation of Sailors
Exciting news! The Team Australia Challenge campaign for the 2024 Puig Women’s and Youth America’s Cup has launched an Education and Training Pathway Program. This initiative aims to mentor emerging and elite sailors, setting them on a course for success in the world of sailing.
Campaign Patron John Bertrand AO expressed enthusiasm for the program, highlighting the opportunity presented by the new America’s Cup campaign and the cutting-edge AC40 yacht. This initiative, supported by the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF), seeks to attract and retain talented sailors while also providing valuable life skills to participants.
The Pathway Program, backed by the ASF, offers donors and charitable foundations the opportunity to provide tax-deductible support. This commitment underscores the program's focus on creating a sustainable legacy beyond the 2024 regatta.
Olympic silver medallist Olivia Price, a founding member of the Team Australia Challenge squad, emphasized the importance of breaking down old paradigms in sailing. The program aims to support sailors through scholarships, training, mentorship, and education in areas such as leadership, teamwork, and risk management.
Interested in supporting this exciting initiative? Visit the Team Australia Challenge Pathway Program page on the ASF website for more information on how to contribute.
